Update concerning NIPPON BEARING's nuclear radiation monitoring
In regard to radioactivity concerns, our area, Niigata Prefecture, is not affected by the radioactive rays. Thanks to the distance and wind direction from the Fukushima nuclear plant, the direct influence is not monitored.
Review of multiple tiers:
1. Raw Material Suppliers
2. Subcontractors
3. NB factory Production
4. Transportation from Factory to the Port
There is no sign of radiation problem. We will keep monitoring the supply chain conditions for any possible radioactive contamination.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On March 11th, 2011 a very severe earthquake occurred on the eastern
side of our main island (Honshu) followed by a devastating tsunami.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people that have been
impacted by these natural disasters. Since our company is located on
the western side (near the Sea of Japan), our town and our factories
were not physically harmed and we remain fully operational. All
equipment have been checked and recalibrated to maintain the
highest degree of precision.
Some difficulties initially had to be overcome with regards to
shipments (Ocean and Air Freight Forwarders) found alternative routes
and inbound materials have returned to a more reliable status. Due to
the difficulties being experienced at the Fukushima power plants, we
have and expect to continue to have ‘rolling black-outs’ to conserve
on electrical usages. We will plan our manufacturing carefully to
make the full use of these limited resources.
We have received many kind expressions of concern for our employees
and our company for which we are very grateful...we here at
NB Europe B.V now look forward to more normal
working environments and schedules.
